Bucher Emhart Glass, a division of Bucher Industries, is taking over the remaining shares of its joint venture with Shandong Sanjin Glass Machinery Co., Ltd. The joint venture was formed in 2011 and is the market leader for glass forming machinery in China. The complete takeover emphasizes the importance of the Chinese market for Bucher Industries and Bucher Emhart Glass and will lead to a faster and more systematic development of the subsidiary.
Bucher Emhart Glass is the global leader for state-of-the-art technologies to form and inspect glass containers. The portfolio consists of forming and inspection machines, controls and automation, components and parts including consultancy and services for the container glass industry. Shandong Sanjin Glass Machinery Co., Ltd, situated in Zibo in the province Shandong, China ("Sanjin") is the market leader for glass forming machines in China.
In 2011, Bucher Emhart Glass acquired a stake of 63% of Sanjin. This acquisition represented an important strategic development with regard to both geography and the product offering. Sanjin produces standard glass forming machines, inspection machines and annealing lehrs specifically for the Chinese market. Bucher Emhart Glass exports state-of-the-art glass forming and inspection machines, serving China's high-end segment only.
The complete takeover of Sanjin by Bucher Emhart Glass will be concluded over the next few months. It will foster even stronger collaboration between the two companies as well as the systematic and direct application of knowledge regarding technology, production efficiency and product development. Additionally, Sanjin will better profit from the best practices and management processes of Bucher Emhart Glass.
